     Pensacola, North Carolina, is located about ten miles south of Burnsville in the southern part of Yancey County at the junction of state road 197 and Cattail Creek Road.

        Pensacola is comprised of the Cane River, Cattail Creek, Laurel Branch, and Murchison communities.

The Allen family lived in the Cattail Creek community.
